Robert Peters calls on Donna Miller to return nearly $40k from Trump donors
CHICAGO (Sunday, February 8, 2026)--Congressional candidate Robert Peters (IL-02) called on Donna Miller to return nearly $40,000 she has accepted from Trump donors on Sunday.
Miller, a Cook County Commissioner, reported raising $39,000 from Trump donors in the fourth quarter. A full listing of those donors is available here. The donations were revealed in Miller’s quarterly filing with the Federal Election Commission posted last week.
“While Trump disrespects our community every day, Donna Miller has invited his donors to buy this election and subvert the will of the residents of the 2nd District,” said Robert Peters. “This is a historically Black majority district, and our people are suffering under this administration. That Miller is apparently MAGA’s candidate of choice should be alarming to every voter. She must reject her MAGA money and join us in making it clear that Trump allies are not welcome to tamper with our primary election.”
Peters noted that the 2nd District has the highest number of Medicaid recipients in Illinois. “Health care costs are skyrocketing in this district because Republicans slashed Medicaid and Affordable Care Act subsidies to pay for tax breaks for billionaires,” said Peters. “The same MAGA donors financed that Republican budget maneuver are now investing in Donna Miller.”
Miller also reported raising at least $875,350.92 in the fourth quarter (83% of her total) from donors who have given to the right wing American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC) or its affiliated super PAC, the United Democracy Project, since 2023. A full listing of those donors is available here. The super PAC “Affordable Chicago Now!,” an arm of AIPAC, has purchased hundreds of thousands of dollars in broadcast television and digital ads in support of Miller in the last week. “Affordable Chicago Now!” has kept its donors a secret.
State Sen. Robert Peters has raised more than $900,000 from more than 30,000 individual grassroots donors overall since entering the race in May 2025. He is supported by Sen. Bernie Sanders, Rep. Delia Ramirez, Cook County Board President Toni Preckwinkle, the Congressional Progressive Caucus PAC and more.
